Interesting, Grendel’s mother looks like a Martian, but there are several differences between her and any of the previous female Martians we’ve seen. She’s got freckles for one, and what appear to be eyebrows. Is she some sort of Martian / Terran hybrid (which seems unlikely given your normal stance on interspecies mating), or are Martians more phenotypically varied than we’ve seen before?

And, of course, Grendel lost his arm.

Does this mean the Captain is Hrothgar?
